Caroline Fabbruzzo Caroline Fabbruzzo RECE, BA ECE, MA ECS was the National Research Coordinator of the Handle with Care Project (February 2011-July 2016) and is a Handle with Care Master Trainer. She has 20 years of experience in various aspects of children’s mental health, including child care, family support programs and coordinating national research projects. The focus of her work has been supporting children and families living in at-risk communities. Caroline has shared her knowledge and experience by presenting at various conferences and through publications. Caroline is also a faculty member at Humber College, School of Health Sciences and an Instructor with Seneca College’s Faculty of Continuing Education and Training where she shares her knowledge and experience with students pursuing a post-diploma certificate in the Resource Teacher/Early Interventionist Program.
Kim Hooey Kim Hooey RECE, RT is a Preschool Resource Teacher with the County of Bruce Social Services. She has been supporting children and families within this position for the past 9 years in the Northern part of Bruce County. Prior to this Kim worked at an Ontario Early Years Centre and as a Child Care Case Worker with the County of Bruce. Kim began her career as an Early Childhood Educator in this field 17 years ago as a lead teacher and acting supervisor. Kim Hooey graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Georgian College in 1997. After spending a number of years working within a child care setting she continued her education graduating from the Resource Teacher/Early Interventionist program from Seneca College in 2004. Kim has a keen interest in Children's Mental Health as well as working with children with behavioural issues. She has her Level I “Making Sense of Kids” and Level II “Challenging Childhood Problems” from the Neufeld Institute Vancouver, BC. Kim is passionate about working with children and families, she feels privileged to have so many opportunities to be welcomed into the lives of the families she supports.
Tracey Shilvock Tracey Shilvock, RECE RT, is the Supervisor of the Special Needs Resource Program at the County of Bruce Social Service. In her current position she is responsible for the daily operations of the Special Needs Program. Tracey graduated with an Early Childhood Education diploma from Sheridan College and began her career 27 years ago as a frontline Early Childhood Educator with the City of Toronto and then accepted an Early Childhood Education position with the County of Grey. This is where she discovered her passion for supporting children and families within the Early Intervention scope. She received her Preschool Resource Certificate from Georgian College and moved into the position of Preschool Resource Teacher. Tracey sits on and is an active committee member on a number of Early Intervention committees for the population of 0-6 years in the Bruce and Grey communities. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work in the Early Intervention field.
Brenda Goodline Brenda Goodine is currently enjoying career opportunities that enable her to contribute to the education and support of families and early childhood through research, post-secondary training of early childhood educators, and development of educational supports. Brenda’s extensive and diverse early childhood career has included program and service development and implementation in licensed early learning and care programs, family resource and inclusive educational and vocational experiences for children and adults with disabilities as well as research in early childhood education, children’s mental health, and family literacy.
Angie Carson Angie Carson is a Registered Early Childhood Educator and Preschool Resource Teacher who works directly with front line staff, parents and professionals. She has been working with children from birth to six with multidisciplinary needs and services for over 15 years. Her experience includes, Supervisor of a Child Care Centre, Ontario Early Years Centre, Ontario Early Years Literacy Support, Infant & Child Development, Macauley Child and Development Centre and currently County of Bruce Social Services. She has been involved with the Handle with Care project since it’s conception and she is excited for it to be published and shared. Angie lives in Owen Sound with her handsome husband, beautiful daughter and playful puppy.
